The Global Innovation Fund was set up by a group of major government aid agencies who saw the need for an independent investment vehicle that could bring a venture capital approach to fragile places and crowd in private funding for these hard development problems. Key to that approach is our ability to utilize a range of financial instruments – including grants, equity, debt and development impact bonds – to support entrepreneurs.
